European
Science Days Award for Best Essays on Signaling Theory
The ESD invites essays on “Signaling Theory”, in English,
from individuals of up to 30 years of age. The essays can be written
from the perspective of any of the social or biological sciences
– anthropology, economics, political science, sociology, and
behavioural ecology.
In step 1, applicants are invited to present an abstract of their
intended essay (maximum 600 words) and an updated CV, by July 31st,
2010. The Jury, composed of three members of the Faculty of the
European Science Days 2010, will select those that shall be invited
to present the full essay. The decision of the Jury will be remitted
to the applicants by September 7th, 2010.
In step 2, the full essays (maximum 6000 words point 12 font, inclusive
of footnotes, bibliography and appendixes) are to be submitted by
January 31, 2011.
Abstracts and full essays should be in pdf format, spell checked,
and accompanied by a cover page with the author's name and affiliation,
the essay title and return email address.
Essays that do not meet these ESD guidelines will be rejected.

Prizes are not transferable and will be awarded on the basis of
originality, grasp of subject, and the logical consistence of the
argument. Winners will be announced by 30 April 2011, and will be
invited to present their papers at a special event in Austria, in
July 2011.
